WELCOME CHICHAI

In the era of December 2024 after a rough year in many ways.
We asked our community; "What do YOU want to see in the transition for our creative home ?"

There was some response of requesting offerings more than pottery!

So, we went to work looking for an artist in our community we could bring into the studio to share their craft with us.

If you know ... we used to host lots of different artist and their crafts in the space and it was a fun journey to see who in the community would come in.

Welcome multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and community-gatherer,

Chichai.

Chichai actually came into take some ceramics classes to expand her artistic skills onto clay & we were loving seeing her mural work throughout the city.

Please check out more of her murals.

In the spirit of gift giving time we asked for a workshop that she was STOKED about doing & where folks could create something that they could gift if they wanted to. We present the following workshop “Embroidering Charms” for December 2024 and January 2025.

What will you be doing in this artist workshop?

We will embroider and make our own charms // ornaments! Embroidery is a craft found worldwide throughout millennia, including here on Turtle Island. We’ll learn about how embroidery has traditionally been used decoratively as well as for storytelling while recreating our own stories with needle and thread.

Designed for beginners but all levels welcome; must be comfortable with using sewing needles

Participants are welcome to bring any threads/ yarn they want to use although we will have material provided.
