NATURE EXCURSION:
Foraging For Wild Clay
Learn about the fascinating process of harvesting wild clay in a morning immersed in nature. This 3-hour workshop will guide you through foraging your own clay on a local beach, followed by a sculpting session where you'll create your unique masterpiece.
Beginning with a short hike in local nature preserves, you’ll be guided to the beach & taken to a special area containing wild clay. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying sunshine and the ocean sculpting your creations.

How to Identify and process wild clay
Learn sculpting basics including pinch pots using found tools
Create a small mask, totem, candle holder, or catch-all dish
Participate in a closing circle to share what you've learned

You're welcome to bring a small offering, such as food, flowers, or a song to share at our community altar.

This activity requires moderate to advanced mobility and may not be accessible for all people, as the hike to the beach consists of sand and rock. Kid-friendly!
